POSITION SUMMARY

This position enhances the teammate experience and HSS's mission through supporting an internal cadre of certified TEAM Advanced Trainers and other Functional Trainers dependent upon need. As a member of the Talent and Culture team, this position is responsible for defining and supporting the processes and procedures to maintain compliance with HSS internal TEAM Training completion. This position will ensure the sustainability of the internal TEAM Instructor Cadre and support business units in proactively monitoring TEAM training compliance through reporting.

In partnership with the Director of Talent Management & Development, business unit leadership, Internal TEAM Trainers, & LMS Analyst, the Functional Training Specialist is responsible for providing logistical support for the proactive planning of required TEAM training and certifications through capacity and utilization management as well as course scheduling and attendance tracking. This position is expected to provide reporting and insights for continuous improvement.

This position must have a strong customer service orientation and be effective at communicating with employees, leaders, and working across departmental lines. This position operates in a strong team-based environment where collaboration is critical for fulfilling the needs of the business, and also relies heavily on individual execution and delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal HSS TEAM Instructor Certification (30% of time):

Partners with stakeholders to provide full support to HSS internal TEAM certified instructors to ensure the build and sustainment of an internal instructor cadre sufficient to ensure internal compliance with training requirements. Gains and maintains TEAM Master Trainer Certification.

  • Delivers full certification training to new HSS officers and/or leaders designated as TEAM Advanced Trainers.
  • Delivers HSS TEAM certified trainer recertification activities in alignment with HSS policies.
  • Collaborates with HSS certified trainers to schedule and deliver regular intervals of training to HSS officers to include but not limited to TEAM Essentials & Advanced, TEAM Certified Trainer, and TEAM Faculty Trainer.
  • Develops and maintains the Training Plan for HSS TEAM certified trainers describing the standard training or educational mechanisms and defines the target audiences for each training approach.
  • Monitors progress of training activities of HSS certified trainers to ensure that all training objectives are met and follows training requirements based on HSS policies.

Internal HSS Training (40% of time):

Serves as main point of contact across the business for TEAM Advanced Training. Prepares and provides TEAM Advanced Training Programs as a key part of the HSS internal instructor Cadre. Partners with Lead, Tactical Training & Quality to serve as a certified trainer for Functional Training programs as needed to maintain classroom capacity to ensure compliance across HSS.
  • Delivers TEAM Advanced training to HSS internal teammates as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Delivers Functional Training programs to HSS internal teammates as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Identify system or process improvements that increase efficiency, effectiveness, & compliance.
  • Follows procedures, standards, and expectations for planning and tracking of compliance training.

Training Reporting, Coordination & Logistics (30% of time):

Partners with the Lead, Tactical Training & Quality and LMS Analyst to support the use of the LMS as an Enterprise system of record for TEAM and Functional completion and training schedules. Serves as main point of contact for TEAM training scheduling and logistics. Ensures accurate and efficient documentation of TEAM & Functional training programs.
  • Monitors TEAM Advanced training status to ensure compliance with HSS and HSS customer policies.
  • Schedules full certification training to new HSS officers/leaders designated as certified TEAM Advanced trainers.
  • Communicates and schedules HSS certified trainer recertification activities according to HSS policies.
  • Provides monthly/quarterly results assessments of training productivity.
  • Maintains contact with HSS certified trainers to assist them with administrative and instructional support as needed.
  • Develops training schedules and coordinates training resources.
  • Provides program support to officers, trainers, and educators, as needed following delivery of initial training.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance by administering various schedules, paperwork, and communications.
  • Identify system or process improvements that increase efficiency, effectiveness, & compliance.
  • Establish procedures, standards, and expectations for planning and tracking of compliance training.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Revises, updates and modifies existing curriculum and programs as well as develop new curriculum, programs training aids and delivery mediums.
  • Develops and delivers additional training sessions, content, and techniques, as needed, to support regulatory initiatives and business enhancements to systems and processes.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree plus 3 years of related training experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience .
  • Ability to become an expert in HSS programs in order to effectively present various training courses and adapt them, as needed.
  • Excellent presentation and platform skills and up to date knowledge of contemporary training modalities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including listening, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse personalities while exercising tact and flexibility.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems, exercise independent judgment, resourcefully innovate, recommend and lead effective courses of action.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, implement and manage complex or multiple projects and tasks in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Ability to evaluate skills, identify development opportunities and provide effective coaching.
  • Clear understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design, and principles of effective communication.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
  • Basic math skills that allows for general data gathering and reporting on findings.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet HSS driving requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time position. Work hours will vary depending on client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Environment may be fast paced and stressful. Approximately 50-75% travel local and domestic overnight travel may be required and may include one or more of the following: Day and/or Overnight, by plane and/or car.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend approximately 75% of the time sitting and will walk or sit 25% of the time; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally the employee will stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation. Able to drive a vehicle.
