POSITION SUMMARY

The Scheduler/Trainer will provide training and scheduling for the airport workforce.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities with limited supervision
  • Maintains the master schedules for account and makes conscious, effective, and responsible decisions in the absence of decision-making team members
  • Ensures airport security shifts are filled with appropriate trained and qualified individuals
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with security staff in a timely manner by responding quickly to call outs and absences to fill open shifts
  • Effectively manages overtime resources by utilizing appropriate scheduling procedures
  • Manages overtime distribution process and provides guidance to users
  • Manages employee time off and vacation requests to include receipt, approval, and/or denial in a timely and effective manner
  • Manages calendar for Scheduling Department to ensure all scheduling related requirements are met in accordance with HSS policies relating to attendance, payroll, and scheduling, and if applicable - a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
  • Prepares and analyzes reports to determine the effectiveness of scheduling activities and to ensure compliance with the CBA (if applicable) and other HSS Policies
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of a facility and where applicable, multiple facilities
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all airport posts and site-specific Post Orders
  • Responds quickly and effectively to training requests
  • Facilitates training to both small and large groups, including New Security Officer Orientation (NSOO)
  • Ensures the Security Agents/Officers successfully completing training are fully capable of performing post duties
  • Manages initial and on-going training assignments/requirements for teammates
  • Runs and analyzes training data
  • Conducts post-training competency testing
  • Comprehends and executes written or verbal instructions
  • Writes accurate, clear, and legible reports including via electronic device
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers, client staff members and other client vendors
  • Enforces and abides by all policies and guidelines of the client and HSS
  • Performs other duties at the direction of the Contract Security Manager and/or any other recognized leadership personnel
  • Performs all duties with limited supervision
  • May perform other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be Twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • US Citizenship is required
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency. Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Security Management, Law Enforcement or a closely related field preferred
  • Two (2) years of site-specific experience at the airport or a TSR 1542 regulated airport. Prior management/supervisory experience in security, loss prevention or a law enforcement environment may be considered as part of the necessary experience
  • Ability to facilitate all training and pass all competency tasks in the allotted time period to include, but not limited to, HSS and client new employee orientation and security procedures and policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills including the ability to interact with a variety of individuals including, but not limited to, teammates at all levels within the organization, client employees, visitors, customers, vendors and the general public
  • Excellent conceptual and critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable jurisdictional security license(s) or certifications and/or client/contract specific licenses or certifications
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English language proficiently
  • Ability to write detailed routine reports and correspondence
  • Excellent conceptual and critical thinking skills and the ability to present ideas in a clear manner with strict attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommended solutions
  • Proficient using standard office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Training systems
  • Ability to learn HSS Scheduling software and/or client specific software
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with HSS' attendance policy
  • Ability to meet HSS's driving requirements and maintain a valid driver's license

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This is a full-time position. Work hours will vary depending on client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Typical workweeks may exceed the standard 40 hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Environment may be fast paced and stressful. Approximately 10-25% local and domestic overnight travel is required and may include one or more of the following: Day and/or Overnight, by plane and/or car.

While performing this job, individual will walk, stand, sit, observe and drive for extended periods of time in various weather conditions; run, climb stairs; occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds; frequently required to use hands, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation. Individual may occasionally be exposed to changes in temperatures, humidity, chemicals, bodily fluids, and other conditions commonly found in customer environments. Self-motivation and ability to work independent of immediate supervision. Able to drive a vehicle.
